Privacy policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
DocSlim is an iPhone and iPad app made by me, Om Bhagwan, an independent developer in India. This page explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version
Your files
Everything DocSlim does, like scanning, compressing, resizing, merging and renaming, happens on your device. The files you make are stored inside the app. I don't run a server that receives them, and I can't see them.
When you tap Share, you choose where the file goes, whether that's WhatsApp, Mail, a website or the Files app. From then on, the app or service you picked handles it under its own privacy policy.
If you delete DocSlim, the files stored inside it are deleted too.
Camera and photos
DocSlim asks for the camera only so you can scan documents. The camera feed is used to find the edges of the page and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
To pick photos, DocSlim uses Apple's photo picker. The app only gets the photos you actually select, not your whole library.
Purchases
If you buy DocSlim Pro, Apple handles the payment. I don't receive your card details, name or email. The app only asks the App Store whether Pro is active on your Apple ID, so it knows which features to unlock.
Things DocSlim doesn't do
- No sign-up or login
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools from other companies
- No advertising, and no sharing or selling of data
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- No uploading of your files to any server
This website
This site doesn't use cookies or analytics. It loads its font from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address when the page loads, the same as on most websites.
If you email me for support, I'll have your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply to you, and I won't add you to any mailing list.
Children
DocSlim isn't made for young children, but since it doesn't collect personal information, there's nothing extra to protect.
Changes
If DocSlim ever starts handling data differently, I'll update this page and change the date at the top before that version of the app goes out.
